Welcome to Matric Mastery ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy applies to all information collected through our application (the "App").

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the App, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products, when you participate in activities on the App (such as a practice session), or otherwise contact us.

The personal information we collect includes:

Identity Data: Your email address and password when you create an account.
Profile Data: Your chosen curriculum (NSC/IEB) and the list of subjects you provide during onboarding or in your settings. This is essential for personalizing your learning experience.
Performance Data: All answers you submit during the Global Skill Assessment and subsequent practice sessions. This includes the question, your answer, and whether it was correct. This data is the engine of our mastery calculations.
Analytics Data: We generate and store aggregated data based on your performance, including your mastery scores for each subject, topic, and cognitive level, as well as your practice history (streaks, session scores).
Transaction Data: While we do not store your full payment card details, we do process payments through a third-party provider. We store a record of your payment intention, its status (pending, completed, rejected), and a reference to the transaction.

2. How Do We Use Your Information?

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To Provide and Personalize the Service: Your Profile Data is used to tailor the dashboard and practice sessions to your specific needs.
To Calculate and Display Your Progress: Your Performance Data is the core input for our "engine" to calculate your mastery scores, identify your weaknesses, and provide intelligent recommendations for your "Next Step."
To Facilitate Account Creation and Logon: Your Identity Data is used to create and secure your account.
To Manage Subscriptions and Payments: We use your user ID and transaction data to manage your subscription status.
To Communicate With You: We may use your email address to send you important information about your account or our services.

3. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your personal information with third parties for their promotional purposes. Your academic performance and profile data are confidential.

4. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Our platform is built on Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security features. However, please remember that no electronic transmission over the Internet can be 100% secure.

5. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

In accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have rights regarding your personal information:

The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
The right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete (e.g., updating your subjects in the Settings page).
The right to erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
